CBD stands for “cannabidiol,” a valuable compound derived from the hemp plant that acts as a kind of “body police,” monitoring the balance of all bodily functions. When this balance is disrupted—for example, by anxiety or stress—CBD works to restore inner equilibrium.

CBD is particularly ideal for skittish and nervous horses. CBD is also often given to horses to help with anxiety, promote mobility, maintain healthy skin and coat, support digestive health, or provide natural calming effects.

As a general rule, it is recommended to give horses between 10 and 15 mg of CBD per 100 kg of body weight daily. Start with half the recommended dose and then increase it gradually so that your horse’s body can adjust to the new product. Feel free to use our dosage calculator if you’re unsure.
