CBD (short for cannabidiol) is a natural active ingredient derived from the hemp plant. Unlike the well-known THC, CBD is not intoxicating, so your dog will not get “high” from it. The THC content in our products is well below 0.2%, as confirmed by an independent laboratory analysis.
CBD oil for dogs is a dietary supplement. It’s designed to be part of your dog’s daily routine and naturally support their well-being. It is precisely in this role that CBD has become an essential part of life for many dog owners in recent years, especially when it comes to calmness and serenity.
We deliberately focus on full-spectrum products that preserve the plant’s entire synergy, because the natural accompanying compounds work together to produce greater effects than any single compound on its own.

The reason CBD is so great in the first place lies within your dog’s own body. Like almost all animals, dogs have what’s known as the endocannabinoid system, or ECS for short. This is a complex network of the body’s own neurotransmitters and receptors that helps maintain balance in many areas, such as stress, sleep, appetite, and overall well-being.
Think of the ECS as an internal “body police force” that constantly patrols the body and ensures that everything stays in balance. If something gets out of sync—for example, due to stress—this system helps restore balance. CBD gently supports this “body police force” by binding to the ECS.
And this is where the unique quality of a full-spectrum oil comes into play. In addition to CBD, the hemp plant contains other natural compounds, such as other cannabinoids and terpenes. Together, they work better than any single compound on its own—a synergy that experts call the entourage effect. It is precisely this full spectrum that is preserved in our CBD oils.
CBD doesn't work like a switch you flip; it's more like a gentle readjustment. Many owners notice that their dog becomes noticeably calmer during anxious or exciting moments. How quickly this happens and how long it lasts varies from dog to dog.
Since CBD is broken down over the course of a few hours, and to maintain a consistent level, we recommend spreading the daily dose throughout the day rather than giving it all at once. Whether you give the oil with or without food, your dog's weight, and the specific situation also play a role.
Since this varies so much from dog to dog, we’ve broken it down in detail for you. To learn how CBD works in your dog’s body and how long the effects last, check out our guide, “Effects and Duration of CBD in Dogs.”
CBD oil isn't a remedy for a single issue, but rather a natural companion for many everyday situations. Most often, it's used to promote well-being and inner peace.
New Year's Eve and thunderstorms. When there's thunder and lightning outside, many dogs panic. For many pet owners, CBD oil is part of their preparation for noisy nights, helping their dogs stay calm amid the commotion.
Car Rides and Travel. Some dogs pant and tremble as soon as they get in the car. On long drives, on vacation, or in unfamiliar surroundings, CBD can help them stay calmer.
Staying Alone. If your dog has a hard time staying calm when left alone, CBD can be part of a soothing routine that makes it easier for him to say goodbye. This isn't a substitute for training, but rather a complement to it.
Older and very active dogs. Both the senior dog who takes things at a more leisurely pace and the young whirlwind who has trouble winding down benefit from a calm daily routine. CBD supports their overall well-being.
These terms are often confused, but they do not mean the same thing. Hemp oil is a pure edible oil made from pressed hemp seeds. It is nutritionally valuable but contains virtually no CBD. CBD oil, on the other hand, contains the active ingredient CBD from the hemp plant, usually in the form of an extract that is mixed into a carrier oil.
Our approach is once again different. We use 100% pure hemp juice, pressed directly from the plant, without any added carrier oil. This preserves the full spectrum, whereas isolated CBD in a carrier oil represents only a portion of the plant.
For you as a pet owner, this means: If you’re looking for a natural way to help your dog cope with anxiety, you need a CBD product. We’ve broken down the differences in detail—including what to look for when making a purchase—in our guide “Hemp Oil vs. CBD Oil.” To learn why full-spectrum CBD oil offers more benefits than an isolate, read our article “Full-Spectrum CBD Oil.”
How can you even tell what's good quality when all the bottles look the same on the outside? Here are some points to keep in mind—and these are exactly the standards by which we measure ourselves:
Many suppliers remain vague on these points. We’re being transparent about them because trust is non-negotiable when it comes to a product for your pet. If you want to buy CBD oil for dogs, you should know exactly what’s in the bottle and where it comes from.
Don't worry—with this amount, you can't go too far wrong. As a general guideline, aim for 0.5 to 1 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight, preferably spread out over the course of the day. During particularly exciting times, like New Year's Eve, you can give a little more for a short time. It's best to start slowly and see how your dog reacts.
Since every dog is different, you don’t have to figure this out on your own. Just enter your dog’s information into our dosage calculator, and you’ll get the right dosage in just a few seconds. If you want to learn more, we explain everything step by step in our guide on how much CBD your dog can take.
The easiest way is to drip the drops directly into your dog's mouth, onto a treat, or onto a small portion of food. When given directly into the mouth, it usually works the fastest; when mixed with food, it's often more palatable for picky dogs.

Some dogs take the oil right away, while others hesitate at first. If your dog is skeptical, try offering it along with some of their favorite food—this will turn the process into a relaxing ritual instead of a daily struggle. Setting a consistent time—for example, in the morning and at night—makes it easier for both of you.
Our CBD oils for dogs come in two strengths. Which one is right depends on your dog's weight and your current situation:
Neither is “better” or “worse.” The only difference is how much CBD each drop contains. The 5.6% oil is twice as strong as the 2.8% oil. However, by using twice as many drops, you can achieve the same effect with the 2.8% oil.
Still not sure which bottle to add to your cart? As a rule of thumb, if in doubt, start with the 2.8%. That way, you can see how your dog reacts to it.
CBD is generally well tolerated by dogs, and there are no known serious side effects. Still, it’s worth taking an honest look at the things you should know.
If you give your dog too much at once, he may seem temporarily tired or have a sensitive reaction in his stomach. Both are harmless and a good reason to start slowly rather than give too much at once. If your dog is on long-term medication, consult a veterinarian before giving him CBD, as CBD can affect how the body processes certain substances.
When it comes to the law, the situation is clear: In Germany, CBD products with a THC content of less than 0.2% are permitted. We strictly adhere to this limit and back it up with lab analyses that are publicly available.
This is important to us, which is why we state it clearly here: Cats must not be given our full-spectrum oils. The reason is the terpenes they contain—natural compounds found in the hemp plant—which cats cannot metabolize in the same way that dogs do. This is explicitly not due to the CBD itself, but rather to these compounds in the full-spectrum oil. Our product line is therefore intentionally not intended for cats.
Our pure hemp juice formula is also suitable for horses; in this case, the dosage is significantly higher to account for their greater weight. You can find everything related to oils, treats, and kits for horses in our dedicated "CBD for Horses" category.
In principle, at any age, even for puppies. However, since there is still very little research on this topic, we recommend waiting until they are at least 12 weeks old before starting, especially since CBD is not meant to replace training.
Because CBD works gently, the difference is often subtle. In the days after you start giving it to your dog, pay attention to small signs in everyday life. Does your dog seem a little more relaxed in situations that would normally get him worked up? Does he calm down more quickly after getting excited? Does he sleep more soundly?
It’s best to keep a casual record for a few days, especially at the beginning. That way, you can tell whether the amount you’ve chosen is right or if you should adjust it in small increments. If you don’t notice any change at all, the amount is usually too low; it’s rarely that you’re using the wrong oil. And if your dog seems tired, it was probably a little too much. Your own observation of your dog is the best guide here. Give your dog’s body up to four weeks to adjust.
To ensure your oil retains its quality, store it in a cool, dry place away from light—for example, in a cabinet rather than on a sunny windowsill. Close the bottle tightly and avoid letting the dropper touch the bowl or the mouth of the bottle; that way, everything stays clean. By the way, a light sediment at the bottom is normal—it’s plant matter, not a defect.
No. The THC content is less than 0.2%, which is well below any intoxicating level. CBD itself is not psychoactive and is not addictive.
As a general guideline, the recommended dosage is 0.5 to 1 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight, spread out over the course of the day. You can find more information about the proper dosage for your pet using the dosage calculator.
It varies from person to person. Especially if the mirror is already set up, the effects of administration through the mucous membranes can become apparent quite quickly. For more information, see the guide on effects and duration.
Ours is pure hemp juice extracted directly from the plant, rather than an extract dissolved in a carrier oil. It’s also handcrafted in Bavaria and undergoes transparent laboratory testing. Learn more under “Full-Spectrum CBD Oil.”
Yes. You select your strength from the options above, add it to your cart, and the bottle will be shipped directly from our factory.
For horses, yes—but in a correspondingly larger amount; see CBD for horses. For cats, definitely not, due to the terpenes in the full-spectrum oil.
That depends on your dog’s size and needs. A small dog will last significantly longer than a large Great Dane. The dosage calculator helps you estimate how much you’ll need. For example, a 10-ml bottle contains about 250 drops. For a 10-kg dog taking 5 to 10 drops of 2.8% oil daily, the bottle will last about four to six weeks.
Yes, nacani products can be combined with one another. We’ll show you how this works in everyday life in the article“Can You Combine Our nacani CBD Products?”Just be sure to add up the CBD amounts.
Our nacani CBD oil is perfect for dogs and horses—for example, for anxious or nervous animals, older animals, animals with a weak constitution, boisterous young animals, or animals that are physically active. Since it can be administered directly into the mouth using the dropper and is absorbed most quickly through the mucous membranes, it is also well-suited for use in acute situations.
Our CBD oil is a full-spectrum oil. Unfortunately, due to the terpenes it contains, it is not suitable for cats.
Our CBD oil can also be used to bake your own treats. It’s important not to set the oven too high, so as not to damage the CBD.
Bake at a maximum of 160 degrees—preferably at 140 degrees—and leave the treats in the oven a little longer.
